Our clients wanted to increase their previously small and dated kitchen, open it up towards their garden and make use of the extra width of their end of terrace Victorian house.
Challenged by a comparably modest budget the scheme limits itself to a side extension, retaining the rear line of the existing building, while still remaining ambitious in terms of space and materiality.
A series of dark timber frames form the main volume which extends to the side and houses the dining space. It is finished largely in glass, permitting maximum light gains and opening up visibly towards the garden.
