A previously dark and fragmented ground floor receives a simple L-shaped extension and is converted into a generous, light-filled, open-plan home.
The clients’ wishes were to have a modern, yet warm and cosy interior, for everyday family life with their two children and grandmother.
Our design proposes a simple, clean blackened timber volume extension, which hosts a centrally located open kitchen, a big family dining area, and a new study for the parents, all filled with natural light.
These new spaces are developed around the existing building, where a TV room, new bathroom and utility amenities are redesigned and integrated into the scheme.
External spaces are treated equally using minimal geometry, and provide seating opportunities like the patio and the built-in sofa area for practical and elegant outdoor life.
